SUCKER OF SOULS: Episode Review – Love, Death + Robots

Sucker Of Souls - Episode Review

This was definitely one that stood out for me. Though poorly written, with a forgettable storyline, the one thing that I liked about this episode was that it was almost like homage to the animations of the 1990’s – 2000’s. The bold, black lines between the characters and simple colour pallet makes it seem like a classic.

The episode begins with 2 characters on the run down a dark tunnel, escaping from some form of ‘monster.’ The two characters then stumble across a prehistoric monster, referred to the ‘sucker of souls,’ a Dracula. The rest of the episode is pretty much a couple of characters running from it and eventually getting trapped.

The excessive swearing and vulgarity does get a smile on your face, but it does get a bit much. The selling point for me, however, was the character of “The Boss” and his dialogues; “Mercenaries are like hookers, Doctor: pretending to be excited costs extra.”

Though may not be the best of the lot, its dialogues are well written and it definitely does offer an enjoyable 12 minutes.
